- domain name can't be alpha-2 country code (see EURID Registration Policy)
- domain name may not start or end with character '-' (hyphen)
- domain name has to contain only 'a-z' characters and '0-9' numbers and character '-' (hyphen)
- domain name can be long 63 characters or less
- domain name may not contain two consecutive characters '-' (hyphen)

- domain .eu name registrant has to be person resident or organisation registered within the European Union
